The Elios 3 confined space drone by Flyability SA from Switzerland is designed from the ground up to operate in dusty, congested, GPS-denied confined space environments. The Elios 3 is the first drone in the world designed for contact and collision during flight, equipped with a LiDAR module to map the space it flies in real-time.


Powered by the proprietary FlyAware flight control system (a combination of computer vision, LiDAR, and NVIDIA graphics processor), the Elios 3 flies stably and safely even in the harshest confined spaces.

The Elios 3 is more than a flying camera. With its onboard LiDAR, it functions as an indoor mapping drone, able to generate a 3D model of the space it navigates. Real-time visualisation of the 3D map provides the operator with exceptional situational and location awareness. The 3D map, available post-flight, enables easy localisation of points of interest (defects, features, etc.) identified during the mission. The Elios 3 offers a safe and efficient alternative to the traditionally dangerous confined space inspections performed by human inspectors.
